Do I need a new roof or just a repair?
It depends on the age of the roof, how widespread the problem is, and whether the deck underneath is still sound. If the roof has life left and the damage is local, a repair is the right and cheaper call. If it is worn out or the deck is failing, patching just buys a few months.
